ACRES (Agri-Climate Rural Environment Scheme) is Ireland's agri-environment programme under the CAP Strategic Plan 2023–2027 with a budget of €1.5 billion, supporting up to 50,000 farm families. Last verified: 15 May 2026.

Two streams:
• ACRES General (available nationally) — maximum payment €7,311 per year. Covers a range of targeted and general actions for individual farmers.
• ACRES Co-operation (defined high-priority geographical areas) — maximum payment €10,500 per year, comprising up to €7,000 results-based payment plus up to €3,500 for Non-Productive Investments (NPIs) and Landscape Actions.

Payment rates for selected General actions (per year):
• Extensively grazed pasture: €250/ha
• Winter bird food plot: €1,000/ha
• Catch crops: €173/ha
• Low Input Grassland (score 10): €400/ha
• Planting new hedgerow: €5.29/metre

Tranche 2 is currently open. Annual claims submitted via agfood.ie. 2023 works plan deadline was 31 March 2026. NPI claims Q&A updated July 2025. Landscape Actions Specifications updated May 2026.
