Full Details

The Organic Farming Scheme provides payments to farmers who convert to or continue organic farming under Ireland's CAP Strategic Plan 2023–2027. Payments include:
• A participation payment of €2,000 in the first year of conversion
• Annual per-hectare payments depending on land type:
– Organic tillage: higher rate per hectare
– Organic drystock grassland: standard rate per hectare
– Organic horticulture: premium rate per hectare

Farmers must be certified organic or in-conversion through an approved body (Organic Trust, IOFGA, Demeter). A 25-hour Organic Production Principles Course must be completed. Related: TAMS 3 Organic Capital Investment Scheme provides up to 60% grant aid for buildings and equipment for organic farmers (ceiling of €90,000 per holding).
