The Mobility Aids Grant Scheme provides funding for the supply and installation of mobility aids in the home to address mobility issues caused by age or disability. Eligible works include: grab rails and handrails, access ramps, stairlifts, level-access showers, and other minor works to improve mobility and safety. The scheme is means-tested and is administered by your local authority. The grant covers 100% of approved costs up to the maximum of €6,000. Works must be recommended by an occupational therapist or other relevant professional in some cases.
